Shall We Being?

Let’s give this the good ol’ college try, minus the “college” part as that never actually worked out for me. My intelligence and/or grasp of the material was not the issue, quite the opposite; I maintained a 3.83 GPA and was on the Honor Roll all three semesters I was enrolled. Adderall keeps my ADHD at bay for most of the day, but, it doesn’t work well enough for me to submit 4+ years of my life to that shit for a degree I’ll never use (all for the low, low price of your first born child)!

Enter, this blog!

Asparagus, Mushroom, & Bacon Omelette
First omelette; asparagus, sauteed onions and mushrooms, bacon, topped with green onions, fresh basil and parmesan!

While drinking and cooking isn’t necessarily my single passion, it is something I love to do! I have many passions and interests and have pursued a plethora of careers, just never felt I could commit to one. There is no better way to explain how my brain is wired than Emilie Wapnick’s definition of “Multipotentialite“:

A multipotentialite is someone with many interests and creative pursuits.

Multipotentialites have no “one true calling” the way specialists do. Being a multipotentialite is our destiny. We have many paths and we pursue all of them, either sequentially or simultaneously (or both).

Multipotentialites thrive on learning, exploring, and mastering new skills. We are excellent at bringing disparate ideas together in creative ways. This makes us incredible innovators and problem solvers.

When it comes to new interests that emerge, our insatiable curiosity leads us to absorb everything we can get our hands on. As a result, we pick up new skills fast and tend to be a wealth of information.

Medical Spa
Attempting my hand at working in a medical spa

Attempted endeavors have included, inter alia, aviation structural mechanics, real estate, pharmacology, restaurateur, photography, nursing, and sustainable business consulting. I still possess significant interest in those various fields, and occasionally find myself in a daydream showing properties to clients, aiding a person with developmental disabilities, or coming up with creative business plans focused on “cradle-to-cradle” concepts.

Be that as it may, my mind and heart have officially moved on, to what, I haven’t gotten that far yet.

Follow along on this wild and fun journey while I drink, cook, and bake my way through figuring myself out, dealing with agoraphobia, and discovering how the other side (navy dependents) lives.
